A kind young man named Hayden was recognized on Facebook recently by a man he helped out during a trip to McDonald’s. The man went into a McDonald’s ” at exit 8 on 25E near i81″ to get some food. When he tried to pay for his order with his card, the $8.00 charge was declined.
Not to worry. The gentleman got his food because the young man behind the cash register whipped out his own debit card and charged the food on it. Before the customer, Jason Mosier, knew what was happening, Hayden said, “I got you, don’t worry about it.” And, it was done. Wow. What a quick-thinking and kind young man.
“I said no no, just void it, please,” Mosier recounted on his Facebook page. “[Hayden] said, ‘No sir, I got it.’ The only cash I had was 4 one dollar bills, I made him take the 4 bucks and told him I would be back.”
The young man wouldn’t take no for an answer. He wanted to do a good deed – pay it forward. Mosier had $4 cash in his pocket and insisted that Hayden take that. Hayden protested but Mosier persisted. Then, when Mosier opened his bag of food, it turned out that Hayden had the final word. There was Mosier’s four one-dollar bills and a note on his receipt that read, “Have a Blessed Day.”
You can see Mosier’s Facebook post HERE. He went back and asked Hayden’s name and took a picture with him so he could brag on him on his Facebook page. As I looked at the Facebook page, I noticed that Mosier has a couple of posts that reference Fox News and Newsmax contacting him to run his story. He is surprised that the story is getting so much attention.

My card would not work for nothing. My total was 8 bucks. Before I realized it the cashier Hayden took his debit card out and swiped it and said I got you, don’t worry about it. I said no no just void it please. He said no sir I got got it. The only cash I had was 4 one dollar bills, I made him take the 4 bucks and told him I would be back. I thanked him, he handed me my bag and I left. I get to my truck and in the bag is the 4 bucks and my receipt that says “Have a Blessed Day”. Well young man, you did bless my day and Thank you and never loose that giving heart. The world is a better place with you in it. I had to go back in and get a picture with him so I could brag on him because he deserves it.
Pretty good, right?
And, there’s one more story about a McDonald’s cashier paying it forward for a customer. This one was in Tile Hill, in the UK. A customer was in the drive-thru lane and he called his mother to see if she wanted anything. The cashier heard him do that and was touched by his thoughtfulness. Josh Henry was having a “depressing day” and that cashier, Enya, turned his day around.
“I’m at a high risk of redundancy, [but] I will pay this kind act forward tomorrow for sure.”

The story said Enya makes about $9.24 per hour. I don’t know how much Hayden makes at his McDonald’s in the U.S. but I doubt it is more than that. Enya looked a little shy as she asked him not to record her. Two good young people helping out when they could. There’s hope with the upcoming generation. Good for them. And, both work for McDonald’s. Maybe that says something for their hiring process here and abroad.
