President Biden celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at the White House on Sunday. Among the guests were members of the Kennedy family.
One Kennedy who was not invited was Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the Kennedy running against Joe Biden.
From one proud Irish family to another — it was good to have you all back at the White House. https://t.co/x62TsIYWVu

Kerry Kennedy is RFK, Jr.’s sister. I’ll note that according to Kerry’s tweet, she should probably treat her brother with a little more respect, as he is running for office to make the world better, in his mind. Instead she and other Kennedys trash RFK, Jr. An interesting tidbit is that RFK, Jr. says that many of the young Kennedys support his candidacy.
It should also be noted that several Kennedys work in the Biden administration.
It sounds like it was a big celebration.
Both leaders honored the Kennedy family, with Varadkar quoting former president John F. Kennedy, and Biden at one point shouting out former Massachusetts congressman Joseph P. Kennedy, who is now the US special envoy to Northern Ireland and received a loud round applause, according to the New York Times.
When Biden and Varadkar met at the White House on Friday, the taoiseach had to help direct Biden to the exit.
Earlier this week, former Massachusett senator Scott Brown said he turned down RFK, Jr.’s invitation to be his running mate. That ask was a bold move. Brown is a Republican who was elected in 2010 to represent Massachusetts, in what many called the Kennedy seat.
“Not much to say,” Brown said in a text message. “He asked me. I respectfully declined and wished him well.”
Beyond that, Brown added, “Any conversations I had are private.” He did not say when their chat took place.
Baller move, Bobby.
So, no more speculating about Aaron Rodgers, I guess. There is a new name that has surfaced. It is being reported that RFK, Jr. has chosen Nicole Shanahan to be his running mate.
She is a California-based attorney and entrepreneur who was once married to Google co-founder Sergey Brinn.
Shanahan is the person behind Kennedy’s excellent Super Bowl commercial. If she’s Kennedy’s choice, she will likely prove to be a good choice.
“They align on numerous issues,” a source close with the campaign said of Kennedy and Shanahan. “The campaign is also looking for a candidate who can help finance the ballot access initiative,” that will be crucial if Kennedy stands a chance of competing in the election.
The source added: “She might be infusing millions of dollars into the campaign to help fund the ballot initiative, which makes her attractive financially; however, she lacks the qualifications to actually do the job.”
She’s got Google money.
Let’s be real – Kennedy isn’t going to win so she doesn’t have to be qualified to be vice president. He will take votes from Joe Biden by Democrats fed up with him so that will be fun.
Kennedy is expected to announce his running mate pick on March 26 in Oakland, California.
