Yesterday I wrote about the radicalization of medicine.
For several years the news on this front has been very bad, and I am skeptical that in the long run, it will get any better. At least not soon. The medical profession–in fact all the hard sciences–have gone very woke indeed.
It’s ironic because modern medicine and science are both inherently Western in nature and origin. Rejecting Western values necessarily requires rejecting both. This makes me fear for our future.
Still, sanity scored a minor victory yesterday when at least one hospital system decided that celebrating the rape, murder, and mutilation of innocents was a bridge too far. A doctor who expressed excitement and support for Hamas terrorists committing atrocities has been fired from her job and good riddance.

I am not a fan of “cancel culture,” and generally believe that a person’s politics should not be tied to their employment without good reason.
At the same time, it is obvious that the healing profession and its core values are incompatible with bloodthirsty calls for murder. Nobody should be forced to see a doctor who believes that murdering people or harming them in any way is A-OK. Such beliefs are incompatible with most professions, but especially those which exist to care for other people.
It would be like hiring Michael Vick as a dog walker or vet tech. Uh, no. Dana Diab should have been fired, and she was.
A New York City emergency room doctor has been fired for controversial posts online that applauded Hamas’ massacre at a music festival in southern Israel, saying the attacks gave Israelis “a taste of their own medicine.”
Dr. Dana Diab — an emergency room physician with Lenox Hill Hospital and Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center, according to NYC Health + Hospitals — shared a video of the heinous Oct. 7 attack on her Instagram Stories.
“Zionist settlers getting a taste of their own medicine,” she wrote, according to a screenshot shared by Stop Antisemitism on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.
A second snap showed Diab’s Instagram profile, which has since gone private — where the physician boasted over 600 followers and had a Palestinian flag emoji in the bio section.
“Dina [sic] Diab took to Instagram rejoicing Zionist settlers [aka jews] were murdered, raped, beheaded, and kidnapped by the Hamas terror group on Saturday October 7th,” Stop Antisemitism wrote alongside the images.
The Left has suddenly discovered that “cancel culture” is a bad thing, but not only should they be forced to live by the same rules as they have imposed on the rest of us, but they also should acknowledge that at least some views–celebration of or incitement to violence are fundamentally different than having a difference of opinion about pronoun use or border policies.
We live in a topsy-turvey world where actual violence is “social justice,” and differences of opinion are unacceptable “violence.” This is critical theory in a nutshell. “Intersectional,” “decolonized,” “silence is violence,” “trans-genocide,” “systemic racism,” and all the other woke buzzwords are synonymous at a fundamental level: “Die, Westerner.”
Which, in turn, means you and I should die.
And by you and I, I don’t just mean White people. People of other races are just as White supremacists in their eyes if they adhere to Western values. Clarence Thomas, Republican Hispanics, Thomas Sowell, Asians, and Christian Arabs, or even moderate Muslims are in the same category. “White” is a synonym for Classical Liberal or even non-revolutionary.
As distasteful as it is, rational people have to start booting the radicals out of our institutions, assuming we can while maintaining our own values. A good place to start is to boot everybody who justifies terrorism and fire all the DEI types.
Then we can move on to the non-citizens who celebrate terrorism. We, too, can engage in a long march through the institutions and should start now.
