The heartless stunt-monster known as Ron DeSantis, who cruelly rips illegal migrants from their…well, not their homes, but whatever…comfortable government provided shelters is responsible for yet more ruined lives.
Remember those Venezuelans the Florida governor dispatched, post-haste, to well known sanctuary island Martha’s Vineyard back in September? The ones that the residents couldn’t wait to get rid of using the flimsiest of excuses, even as Sen Tim Kaine wailed over them and the cruelty of it all…
…[Sen Tim] Kaine noted that Venezuelan migrants are fleeing “one of the most brutal dictatorships in the world” and that the United States is largest provider of humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
“That DeSantis would go to Texas to round up Venezuelans to drop them off in Martha’s Vineyard, the guy has not the shadow of a heart or a conscience. It’s outrageous,” Kaine said.
“These poor Venezuelans, what they’re suffering.”
That black hearted sumbitch DeSantis, huh?
Just kidding.
…When Ms. Cauro fled Venezuela last summer, she never imagined that one day she would be working and living on a wealthy island south of Cape Cod, surrounded by boats and mansions of the kind she had seen only in the movies.
It has been nine months since the government of Florida, under the direction of Gov. Ron DeSantis, chartered two flights from Texas that picked up Ms. Cauro and 48 other newly arrived migrants and dropped them off on Martha’s Vineyard, a liberal enclave that until then had little firsthand experience with the surge in migration on the U.S.-Mexico border.
I remember what happened. Teeth gnashing, roaring of terrible roars, National Guard buses to an armory and a national uproar about the inhumanity, not to mention repeated, frantic attempts to find something – ANYTHING – to legally charge DeSantis with for the flights.
The U.S. Treasury Department is investigating whether Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis misused federal coronavirus pandemic recovery money to send migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard last month, in what appears to be the first federal probe into the incident.
The oversight arm of the agency said it is investigating the use of over $600,000 in pandemic relief funds by the Republican governor’s administration for the chartered flights, in addition to its usual audit work on whether the funds are being proctored properly, according to an Oct. 7 letter to seven Massachusetts legislators.
They were gonna nail that cocky, grandstanding pain-in-the-tookus to the wall.
Until they couldn’t and didn’t.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE POOR POLITICAL PAWNS?!
Well? What about the…oh.
A “stunt” that led to a better life?
What kind of monster would do this?

Four Venezuelans managed to cling to the rock that is MV in spite of the delightful residents’ best efforts. DeSantis didn’t scatter those people to the wind. Massachusetts and its touchy-feely, virtue-signaling liberals shunted them out of their neighborhood.
…Within days, most of the migrants were gone, headed for other parts of Massachusetts and places like New York, Washington and Michigan — cities better equipped than a small island to settle people who had arrived with little or nothing of their own.
As it turned out, though, not all of them left.
Ms. Cauro is one of at least four migrants who have quietly stayed behind on the island, forming bonds with a community that opened what doors it could. Ms. Cauro, 25, is working as a landscaper. Her brother, Daniel, 29, and her cousin, Eliud Aguilar, 28, found jobs in painting and roofing.
MV’s toney social justice warriors shuffled most of the migrants right out of Buffalo, even though they needed “help” on the island. But you know, not THAT kind of “help,” God forbid.
Immigrants, eager to work, are marched by “help wanted” signs at struggling Martha’s Vineyard restaurants… https://t.co/5JWESf66cx

On that lily white island they managed to make room for four.
NYT reports on an illegal immigrant who is absolutely thrilled Ron DeSantis sent her to Martha’s Vineyard. pic.twitter.com/1zO1cwZfLb

There was much rejoicing.
…She said it was important to her to pay her own way and not become a burden on the community that welcomed her. Her employer, a woman in her 60s who declined to be named because she was employing someone without a work permit, said Ms. Cauro felt like part of the family.
Oh, well done, rich Yankee brahmins – you are a warm, welcoming beacon to the world.
All the lawyers on that island, including Obama? Is no one helping these people get work permits with all the firepower in that town? There IS a process…or is the cheap help irresistible? (Oh, man – couldn’t resist the shot.)
The rest of the story is classic NYT WAAH: this illegal who wants to open a restaurant is working odd jobs in Boston while living at a shelter, Ron DeSantis is the worst guy ever and crossing the border (the author never uses the word “illegal”) is dangerous and tough. I can recite it by heart. Standard boilerplate.
It’s nice these people landed relatively softly and good for them busting their buns.
What’s more telling is what all those smack-talking liberal island bazillionaires haven’t done…for FOUR people.
Nothing like putting yourselves out for your fellow man.
