Joe Biden all but delivered the Republican nomination for president to Donald Trump on a silver platter when Merrick Garland indicted Trump on Thursday. Biden has turned America into a Banana Republic with his latest dirty political trick against Trump. Indicting the opposition party’s strongest candidate against him, Biden acted as any third world dictator would. He is trying his best to take out his challenger as the primary competition barely gets underway.
Be sure to read Ed’s post on this topic. He goes into the alleged charges against Trump. I’m not doing that.
This is some deeply corrupt stuff that is being carried out by a deeply corrupt president. Is it a coincidence that Trump’s lawyers were notified of the indictment at the same time that the Biden family corruption is coming out via documents in a bribery probe by the Congressional Oversight Committee? Squirrel! Don’t pay any attention to committee members coming out of briefings and talking about documents allegedly pointing to $5M bribes paid to Joe Biden and to Hunter Biden. Just look over there and watch Donald Trump being indicted by an equally corrupted Merrick Garland.
Unless they are listening to FNC, regular Americans may not realize how precedent-setting this indictment of a former president is – much less a former president who is the top contender to challenge the sitting president in his re-election bid. A former president has never been indicted. But, since it involves Trump, liberal talking heads on cable news channels across the dial are acting like this bombshell is a normal thing. It’s never been done before. This is a criminal indictment, likely with seven charges involved, that could see the former president serving time in prison. The Trump deranged left is over the moon with joy and excitement.
Biden clearly sent a signal to DOJ and Merrick Garland when he told a reporter in May that he has total faith in his son, Hunter, and how proud he is of his son. Don’t prosecute my son. That was the message sent to DOJ.
Biden has guaranteed Trump success in his campaign for the Republican nomination. Remember what happened when Trump was indicted by D.A. Bragg? That involved a civil case and his poll numbers shot up. Trump used it for fundraising. Will the same happen now? Yes, I think it will. Several candidates have come forward in support of Trump. Trump’s most competitive challenger, Governor Ron DeSantis, tweeted out that when he is president he will end the weaponization of the DOJ.
The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society.
We have for years witnessed an uneven application of the law depending upon political affiliation.
Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter?
The DeSantis…

If Hillary Clinton is walking around a free woman and never even got so much as a stern talking-to, why go after Trump in such an aggressive way? Ed outlines Hillary’s corrupt behavior in his post (linked above). Sure, he brought most of it on himself by holding on to the documents and slow-walking his cooperation with the National Archives, but we know what this is. It is very much as Trump called it – election interference. I agree with Trump here.
Let me say that Trump is not my preferred candidate in the Republican primary. Like many other Republican voters, I’m ready for a change. However, when something like this happens, it is mandatory that all of the other candidates line up in support of Trump. No exceptions. The same goes for every Republican in Congress, starting with Speaker McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader McConnell. Put differences aside and condemn the actions of Joe Biden and Merrick Garland in the strongest of terms. This cannot stand. No Republican should be willing to sit back and let Joe Biden turn America into a Banana Republic.
Vivek Ramaswamy, running to be vice president, said he would immediately pardon Trump if he becomes president.
In a statement late Thursday, the 37-year-old biotech executive echoed Trump’s criticism of the special prosecutor, saying there were “two tiers of justice,” with Trump subject to a different standard than President Joe Biden.
“It would be much easier for me to win this election if Trump weren’t in the race, but I stand for principles over politics. I commit to pardon Trump promptly on January 20, 2025 and to restore the rule of law in our country,” he said.
Every Democrat and Never Trump Republican is salivating over the possibility of seeing Trump in handcuffs, and better yet – an orange jumpsuit. They should be very careful for what they wish for, though, because if this whole clown show keeps going, their guy Biden is next. If the country has been so degraded that the DOJ is now not even pretending to be fair and balanced to both sides of the aisle, then all bets are off for everyone. Compare the handling of classified documents in one relatively secure location in Mar-a -Lago to that of how Biden handled classified documents. He had them in boxes in several locations, not secured at all. Some boxes were in a garage in Delaware, next to his precious Corvette. And, what about Biden being compromised because of the appearance that he took money from nefarious actors overseas? Don’t you think those relationships affect his performance as president?
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said it well. She noted she sometimes disagrees with Trump and he recruited a primary challenger her in the last election cycle but this action by DOJ is unprecedented.
“This is unprecedented what I am feeling tonight. And I want to I want to be very clear here: Donald Trump and I have had our ups and downs… But I want the American people to know, to make no mistake, this is the executive branch tonight trying to take out their number one opponent for the presidency of the United States in 2024,” Mace said.
She added that Biden and his Justice Department have one standard for Trump and another for anyone else facing similar allegations.
Mace noted Biden has also been found to have mishandled classified documents, some dating back decades. They have been found at his Greenville, Del., estate, an office in Chinatown, D.C., and at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn-Biden Center in Washington.
She also noted Hillary Clinton went unpunished for allegedly obscuring a private computer server in her Chappaqua, N.Y., home that held classified information within it. Then-FBI Director James Comey – who has spurned his longtime Republican Party identification – notably declined to prosecute Clinton but has not been shy about slamming Trump’s purported transgressions.
“Everyone’s held to a different standard but Donald Trump, and that’s wrong,” Mace told “Fox News Tonight.” “And, I do believe tonight that Joe Biden just secured Donald Trump’s nomination for Republicans in 2024.”
Mark Levin lost his mind on FNC last night during Hannity’s show. Understandably so. When he goes into full yelling mode it is hard to listen to for too long but he was absolutely spot-on in his analysis. This is not just an attack against Republicans. It’s an attack against the republic. Joe Biden had to sign off on the original case about the documents and the National Archives, which led to this. He lies when he says he had nothing to do with it.
When a person makes a point of saying, “I’m honest”, as Biden did Thursday in answering a reporter’s question, it usually means the opposite.
The weaponized DOJ is the greatest threat to our democracy. America is in a really bad place.
Trump’s court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
