Let’s be frank: the flood of Muslim refugees into Europe has not been an unalloyed success.
It’s not that all Muslims are incapable of integrating into Western cultures. Really, it’s not.
It’s just that a lot of them can’t, especially when they emigrate from medieval societies and are dumped into the modern world. Their reaction is not to adjust to the culture around them; it’s to demand the culture reflect their own values.
They emigrate from what Donald Trump inelegantly calls “s**thole countries” and work to recreate the s**thole conditions elsewhere.
The Telegraph (an excellent newspaper, by the way!) has a story today about a disturbing story that took place in France. A young Islamic girl who was inching toward integrating into her adopted country was severely beaten and put into a coma by classmates who considered her an apostate.
A 14-year-old girl was severely wounded and left in a coma after being beaten outside her school by three other teenagers over what, her mother suggested, could have been down to un-Islamic behaviour.
The French government has launched an investigation over the attack in the southern city of Montpelier, which has caused political uproar across the country.
It came days after the head teacher of a Parisian school resigned following death threats after she asked a student to remove her Muslim veil, sparking widespread outrage.
The victim, named as Samara, is now out of her coma but was “seriously wounded” in the attack on Tuesday afternoon outside the Arthur Rimbaud College in Montpellier. The school is in the La Mosson-La Paillade district, a low-income suburb with many residents of immigrant origin, prosecutors said.
One of the accused is a girl from the same school, also 14, who was arrested on Wednesday and admits to having beaten the victim, Montpellier prosecutors said in a statement late on Wednesday. The two other minors arrested are aged 14 and 15.
This sort of thing is becoming more common, and since 10/7, we have seen the streets of Western countries flooded with protesters bearing swastikas and other symbols while demanding the destruction of Israel.

“I think it’s… the fact that [Samara]… is maybe a little more liberated than some students,” she told broadcaster BFMTV.
“Samara wears a bit of make-up. And this young girl [who attacked Samara] wears a veil. All day long, she called her a kouffar, which means miscreant in Arabic. My daughter dresses in European style. All day long there were insults, she was called a kahba, which means c–t in Arabic. It was physically and psychologically unbearable.”
The victim’s mother accused this classmate of being the “sponsor” of the attack and claimed that this schoolgirl had been suspended for two days in June 2023, having published a photo of her daughter on social networks calling for her to be raped.
Diversity is not our strength. Our culture is our strength, and it’s the reason we live in societies to which millions of people flood every year.
Immigrants can be a huge asset. Much of our small business growth and entrepreneurialism in America is driven by immigrants coming here to seek a better and more prosperous life.
However, these immigrants are not medievalists, and not all immigrants are equal. Some love our countries; many hate us–and often are willing to say so. Why we accept this is a mystery.
There is a prejudice on the Left–call it the “soft bigotry of low expectations”–that excuses barbarism from people because Leftist assume that their clients are barbarians–incapable of being civilized and therefore are unwilling to demand it of them. These are the same people who identify with and defend violent criminals, demand lowered standards, and excuse evil things like terrorism.
I know many people who say the same thing about the Israel-Hamas conflict. They excuse Hamas because, well, they are Palestinians. What do you expect? Israelis are Westerners and thus have a responsibility to accept barbarism because they are better than Palestinians.
It’s an odd flex, but I have heard that more than once. “Jews are civilized. They should do better.”
Israel IS doing better. Despite the propaganda, Israel has bent over backward to avoid civilian casualties.
Islamism is a cultural cancer, and rejecting it is simple sanity, not bigotry. Islamists have ruined the countries in which they lived before, and are well on their way to ruining the countries to which they moved.
Civilized Muslims should be welcome anywhere; barbarians, though, should stick to the s**tholes which they have already destroyed.
