I don’t think the social media collaboration between First Lady Jill Biden and pop singer Christina Aguilera is going as expected.
The message is about abortion, of course, because what else does Jill Biden have to tell voters about the Biden administration? Democrats are running on abortion and saving freedom, whatever that means, so Jill teamed up with Aguilera in hopes of attracting younger voters and women voters.
The two pro-abortion women addressed state-level abortion laws that have become a reality since the 2022 Supreme Court decision. They use the word ‘ban’ but an honest discourse would address abortion restrictions, not bans. In Texas, for example, there is a six-week deadline for abortion. There is an exception in the life of the mother.
What the Dobbs decision did was return abortion to the states, as it was pre-1973 and Roe v Wade. There is no constitutional right to abortion. If Jill wants to help Democrats save democracy, following the Constitution would be a good way to do that. Roe v Wade was a ruling by a progressive activist Supreme Court that decided to legislate, not interpret the Constitution, as is its job. It overstepped the separation of powers. By the time that abortion was returned to states, abortion was available 24/7 up to the date of delivery. It was barbaric.
Jill and Christina said state control of abortion threatens the lives of women.
“It was shocking and devastating. From state to state, abortion bans went into effect, threatening the health and lives of women across the country,” remarked Biden, voicing concern over the implications of these bans.
Aguilera echoed Biden’s sentiments, highlighting the repercussions faced by healthcare providers. “While also threatening doctors with prosecution for simply doing their jobs,” Aguilera emphasized.
The conversation didn’t stop there. Biden raised another issue, stating, “And now, extremists are even threatening the right to access IVF and contraception for so many families.”
You know whose lives abortion really threatens? Babies. Most conservatives believe that life begins at conception. Abortion destroys life, not simply clumps of cells. And, no, no one is threatening access to IVF. Alabama state lawmakers went rogue and threw that kerfuffle into the campaigns. The state legislature is working on getting IVF services back on track.
“Secrecy, shame, punishment, danger, even death,” the first lady said. “Extremists are working harder than ever to drag us back to a past we thought was long over.”

It’s not a good look.
Aguilera spoke about not wanting her daughter to live in a world where politicians make decisions about her body. She’s good, though, with the president (a politician) and Congress (politicians) codifying Roe v Wade.
This is my favorite reaction on social media:
Oh, she found her “breakfast taco”.

Heh.
If this was 2004 I’d be impressed.

Joe Biden is losing Hispanic voters and suburban women voters every day. His polling numbers are bad. Whoever filmed this video and thought it looked good should be fired.
Kamala Harris is the Biden administration’s abortion czar. She embraces the role and travels around the country scaring voters that Donald Trump hates women and he will treat women worse than the Taliban if he wins in November. She went to a Planned Parenthood clinic in Minneapolis on Thursday. Imagine that. She campaigned in an abortion facility. That’s a historic first and it’s a bad one.
“So I’m here at this health care clinic to uplift the work that is happening in Minnesota as an example of what true leadership looks like,” Harris said. “It is only right and fair that people have access to the health care that they need … in an environment where they are treated with dignity and respect.”
Abortion is uplifting. That’s a take.
