Update, 9:45 PM ET: We’ve had a couple of interesting developments. First off, DDHQ called Minnesota for Trump. where he finished third in 2016:
NBC News Report: Nikki Haley is not currently expected to speak on Super Tuesday night and likely won’t give any more updates as results come in.

Second, the turnout in Texas is brisk — and 2:1 in favor of Republicans. Collin Allred will win the Democrat nomination to run against Cruz, but these turnout numbers so far suggest that Democrats will get smoked in November.
Original post follows …
Greetings from Texas, which anchors today’s Super Tuesday results in the Central Time Zone! We have a spicy primary here in the Lone Star State, much of which will depend on who the lone star of Texas GOP politics will prove to be.
Governor Greg Abbott has generated up primary challengers for the nearly two dozen state legislators that voted against his school choice/voucher program and killed it. Attorney General Ken Paxton has done the same thing to GOP legislators that voted to impeach him. Which grudge match will prevail?
Oh yeah, there’s also a presidential primary taking place here for both parties. We’re all on the edge of our seats for those results!
Before we get to the widgets, I’m happy to report a cool reform in Texas — at least in my county. They have dumped the electronic voting machines and now use scannable paper ballots, the most reliable and secure system possible. Have other counties in Texas done the same? I’m not sure, but I may call the secretary of state’s office tomorrow or later this week to find out. I made sure to express my appreciation for the change at the precinct — and of course, thank them for their hard work too.
Now onto the results! We’ve split duties today; I’ll have all of the CT states’ results in this post. Jazz has the states in ET as well as a couple of key races in Alabama and North Carolina, and John will take all of the PT/MT states in a later post. David will focus on some key House and Senate primary results. (Karen and Beege clearly won the lottery.)
As the results come it, we’ll update as needed, at the top in reverse chronological order. Clearly, the key for both parties in the presidential primaries tonight will be turnout rather results, since Donald Trump and Joe Biden should cruise to victories, especially Biden. But if Republicans turn out in significantly higher numbers, Biden’s wins won’t mean much.
Keep Your Eyes On: Minnesota’s GOP primary. Trump should romp in most of these states, but I wonder whether Nikki Haley might pull a surprise in my previous home state.
